Strrrrikeee!

This week was pretty low key for us. Sarah took the week off from daycare so I stayed home with the kids Monday, Wednesday and Friday and Presten was home on Tuesday and Thursday. Neither Presten or I had any meetings this week and Jaxson had the week off of dance due to Spring break. Jaxson thought it was pretty cool that he got to stay home with daddy. He seems to get away with a little more when Dad is home:) The weather has been beautiful so we spent a lot of time playing outside. Jaxson loves when the neighbor kids come over. There are times when I can't open the front shade because Jaxson will just stand at the window say "please mom can I go and play with the kids....Pleeeeaase! Unfortunately we can't play outside all day:) Vada has been one hunger turkey this week! I decided to start giving her some rice cereal each morning. This typically turns into one big mess. Besides the fact that her reflux is to push the cereal out of her mouth with her tongue she loves to put everything in her mouth. So after each bite she will usually pull her bib up and put it in her mouth along with her hands so I have to pull her hand which is covered in cereal out of her mouth before I can give her the next bite. Then she usually likes to grab onto the spoon and help me get it into her mouth. Needless to say she is still eating just as much because I am not sure how much food actually is ending up in her stomach.! It is quite the process and quite the mess:) She did do better this morning so I hoping that she is catching on to how the whole eating thing works. We really did not have any big plans for the weekend either. With the weeks flying by we decided that this weekend would be good to just take it easy. Saturday we took Jaxson BOWLING!! This was his first time. He had so much FUN! He even got a strike! He bowled a 65! It amazing how much better I bowl with bumpers:) Vada had fun just watching everything that was going on. I have a feeling that we will be going again soon! I also just wanted to mention that I have also started another blog! It is really in the beginning stages, but hopefully over the next couple of weeks there will lots of new posts! I get lots of questions about recipes that we make and love. This is a food blog where we will be able to share our recipes with all of you! you can check it out at bakenwiththebeans.blogspot.com. Tootalu for now! The Bean's

Here is a little video of Jaxson reading Vada her prayers. I ran out of memory when I was recording it so it was cut a little short, but it's still pretty cute.

HAPPY EASTER!!

This was quite the week! I dealt with one of the most irritating allergic reactions a person can have-HIVES. I have never had allergies before and I still am not sure what caused them but I had them for an entire week and I am still not sure that they are totally gone. Poor Jaxson had to listen to me complain about them non stop! They were horrible and they spread to my arms, legs, back, stomach and my head! I ended up going to the doctor and he put me on some medication, but it took forever to really start working! The more I would itch them the bigger they would get and then they would start to spread more! Why do I get these weird things?! Last week was really a huge blur after dealing with the hives. However, we did head to Rochester this weekend for Easter and had a great time! Saturday we took Jaxson to "Horton hears a Who." It was really cute. Jaxson had a good time playing Thomas the Train with grandpa and dying Easter eggs with grandma and Katie. Vada was a turkey when it came to bed time--until we finally brought her in bed with us! Then of course she fell right to sleep~what a stinker! Easter morning Jaxson woke up and found out that the Easter bunny hid eggs for him to find all over the house. With monies in them! We went to church and then ate brunch at church. Every Easter the youth from the church do a fundraiser and provide an all you can eat brunch-it is delicious! After brunch we packed up the crew and drove back up to the cities to Grandma Vicky and Grandpa Steve's house. We got there just in time to see Uncle Jim and Auntie Amber, Becky, Great grandma and grandpa and Uncle TJ. Vada slept the whole car ride up so she was all smiles for everyone! Jaxson has been loving all the CANDY! I think we are going to have to hide it :) We were excited to see Uncle Jim and Auntie Amber~she is due in 4 weeks with a little girl! We can't wait to meet little Ella Ann! Vada is starting to be a lot more curious. She wants to grab everything and wants to be aware of what is going on around her. She is starting to eat a lot more during the day so we may try a little more cereal this week. Presten gave it to her over the weekend and she was not to sure about it:) It so fun to watch her grow!

Happy Easter Everyone!! We are looking forward to the warmer weather this week!

Here is a little video of Jaxson playing with Vada last week. I had tried to put Vada to bed earlier, but he told me that I could not put her to bed because he was playing with her! As you can tell she was a little fussy so he finally agreed that it was time to put her to bed! :)

Hippity Hop...Hippity Hop....Hippity Hop, Hop, Hop

We had a pretty crazy week! Monday, Jaxson started his ECFE class with Nishad. He was a little shy at first, but he definitely made up for that! Towards the end of class as the teacher was trying to wrap up I hear Jaxson say to Nishad "Hey do you want to see my spiderman underwear?" Before I could even react his pants were at his knees! I could just hear all the moms and girls just chuckling. That is Jaxson for you:)! The class is pretty cute a lot of jumping around and they did the hokie pokie and the chicken dance along with a little ballet and jazz. It was cute to see all the little girls in their leotards and Jaxson and Nishad the crazy boys in the class. We figure the best football players take ballet to get their twinkle toes so why not expose Jaxson to it now. It will be so fun when Vada is old enough to be in dance! On Wednesday I went to Disability Day at the Capital. We learned a lot about the possible cuts human services may receive as Minnesota tries to recover from the $935 million dollar deficit. These cuts would directly impact the families and staff that I work with. I also met with Senator Amy Koch to talk with her about what the cuts means for the people that are receiving services and also those who provide it. I also talked with her about issues that we are having in our school district. She was very receptive to everything. It will be very interesting to see what happens in the coming months. This weekend my first official Park and Rec Event since being elected in January. Everything went very smoothly. The Easter Bunny was there, Tinsy the Clown, face painting and an Easter egg bunny. Jaxson had a really good time. We thought for sure that he would be afraid of the Easter Bunny, but he was wasn't at all which was pretty exciting! Then Saturday night Jaxson went to a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's with Kylie, Braic and Trenton. He had so much fun. He watched the Bee Movie and played pirates with his cousins. I am sure that it was pretty entertaining! Abby, one of the tellers at Presten's work, watched Vada for us and we went out for dinner. This was the first time since last January that Presten and I went out just the two of us. We went to McCoy's in St. Louis Park. It was really great food. We made it an early night so when we got home we were still able to watch a movie. We all had a really great weekend! Now if Vada will just poop! She seems to be a bit uncomfortable today, but I am sure it will still be another couple days before she does. Poor girl:( We are looking forward to heading to Rochester next weekend for Easter. We hope that everyone has a wonderful week!

Whew! What a weekend!....Time to Relax

What a week! I can't believe that it has already been a week since I posted our last blog. Monday morning we had Jaxson's post op appointment and the Doctor said that everything has healed well. We expected that, but it was good to have it confirmed. On Friday Jaxson, Vada and I went to the Children's museum with our friends/neighbors -Beverly, Nishad and Arun. We had so much Fun! Jaxson was a little intimidated by the exhibits that had little critters. He did not want to touch anything because he was afraid of what it would do to him. Nothing was real of course, but he doesn't understand that yet. Nishad on the other hand, loved all the stuffed animals and in every exhibit he would find one right when we entered and he carried it with him the whole time. Jaxson found his niche in the bubble and water exhibit. He was blowing bubbles and racing boats down the little water slides. After the bubble excitement we decided that it was time for lunch. Jaxson scarfed down his entire lunch-boy was he ever hungry! Then it was off to the next exhibit. In this one he was able to be a bus driver, go to the market and play chef in the kitchen. By the time we got through all the exhibits we were exhausted. Vada had fun watching everything and everyone and making her motor noises. When she gets going there is no stopping her! Then we got everyone loaded up and headed home. It wasn't long before Beverly and I looked back to see Nishad and Jaxson both knocked out. I didn't blame them because I think that I needed nap after all that! On Saturday my parents came up because Presten and I had Jake's 30th birthday Party/annual moonlight bowling party! We surprised Jake at Champps restaurant with a bunch of his friends and his with his mom and brother who flew in from Florida that he had no idea would be there. It was such a great surprise for him. Then we went moonlight bowling. It was a really late night for us and then with daylight savings it made it even later. We just are not used to that so Sunday we were a bit on the tired side. Sunday afternoon we had Trenton's (Jaxson and Vada's cousin) Birthday Party! He turned 2! We had fun chatting, watching Trenton open his gifts and eating cake and ice cream. We had a packed weekend and it just flew by! Jaxson has the first session of his ECFE class tomorrow night. It is a movin and groovin class and Nishad is in the class too-so Jaxson is looking forward having a friend in the class. It should be fun! We hope that everyone has a great week! The Bean's

Spring Fever!

Snow, Snow- go AWAY!!! However, I'll take the sunshine! We finally had a weekend that Presten didn't work and we didn't have any huge plans. On Friday our friends Chris and Kristen had us over for a night of pizza and playing their Nintendo Wii--an addition waiting to happen! Jaxson had a good time playing with the dogs--or should I say they had a good time playing with him. Henry their black lab would not leave Jaxson's side. It was pretty funny. Saturday, it was finally nice enough to play outside! I think that we all needed the fresh air. We got everyone bundled up and headed outside. Jaxson had fun playing in his car and using his new gas tank that grandma Vicky got him for Christmas. Jaxson decided that he needed some playmates so we walked over across the street to see if G-nana (it is actually Dianna but Jaxson is putting a G in front of it and he just can't seem to remember how to say it:)) wanted to play. She was already getting her coat and snow pants on to come over and play. They played for over an hour in the snow and making a fort. Vada all bundled up in her car seat fell asleep, the neighbor kids had a fun time looking at her and trying to figure out how to pronounce her name :) . For supper we made this awesome Teriyaki Chicken-if you want the recipe let me know. It will definitely be a keeper at our house. Saturday night we finally were able to watch a movie. We have had two of our netflix movies for weeks! It was a nice relaxing weekend and a much needed one. Jaxson has his post operation appointment tomorrow to make sure that everything healed well from his surgery. We do not anticipate any problems-he is jumping off the furniture as usual! We hope that everyone has a great week! We had a great response from everyone about starting the blog so thanks for checking in on US! The Bean's

Check out Vada's new trick!
